2025 University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarship Details

The University of Manchester is offering over 330 scholarships for international students starting their studies in September 2025.

These scholarships are available for both undergraduate and master’s programs, with a total value exceeding £4.5 million. The awards are open to students pursuing undergraduate and master’s degrees.

The University of Manchester, located in Manchester, England, was established in 2004 following the merger of the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology and the Victoria University of Manchester.

These scholarships are designed to support students who will use their education to address global challenges such as reducing poverty, promoting social justice, tackling climate change, and fostering sustainable cities.

Eligibility Criteria for Global Futures Scholarship 2025

To qualify for the Global Futures Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be from one of the following African countries: Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, Botswana, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, or South Africa.
• Have lived in one of these countries for at least three years prior to applying.
• Be self-funded (not sponsored by any organization).
• Not be applying for programs in Medicine (MBChB), Dentistry (BDS), Architecture, or any courses with a foundation year.
• Choose The University of Manchester as their firm UCAS choice by 23 May 2025.
• Applicants who have previously studied in the UK are not eligible.
• The scholarship applies only to full-time courses at The University of Manchester’s UK campus. Blended or distance learning programs do not qualify.
• For undergraduate applicants, they must be applying for direct first-year entry in 2025 and must have, or be working towards, qualifications like A-levels, IB Diploma, South African NSC or IEB, or NCUK International Foundation Year.

For postgraduate applicants:

• Must hold an unconditional offer for a full-time, on-campus master’s program starting in September 2025.
• Submit the scholarship application form by 24 April 2025.
• Programs such as MBA, MPhil, Master of Architecture (MArch), MA in Architecture and Urbanism, MLA in Landscape Architecture, PGCE, and medical or dental degrees are not eligible.

Scholarship Duration and Benefits

Undergraduate Scholarships:

• The University will offer 100 merit-based scholarships worth £24,000 each.
• Students will receive £8,000 per year over three years, provided they maintain at least a 60% average each year.
• Scholarships are applied as a reduction to tuition fees.

Master’s Scholarships:

• The University will offer over 230 merit-based scholarships worth £15,000 each.

How to Apply for the University of Manchester Global Futures Scholarship (Step-by-Step)
